daily me...

back to another boring weekend. handphone barely irritated me these days.
except a sms at yesterday morning from ex-angmo-boss asking for 2hrs employment assistance. i simply ignore. i wouldnt wanna jus travel there to work for jus 2hrs. and how are u gg to pay me.

though father is back home for the weekend, but we2 could sit side-by-side and not make a sound at all.
last nite, he asked when's my course gg to start. i explained abt the cancelled course and planned to work aft cny. as i expected, he agreed, made a short comment and we didnt continue any conversation aft that.

guess it's our language barrier. father always speak to me in mandarin while i'll reply in hokkien in his favour. but, i'm weak with my hokkien. i would translate my intented msg in mind to hokkien and convey with my mouth. still, my mind processor is slow and ultimately, tongue-tied and wrong pronounciation.

at times, while watching tv esp news, father would make some comments and/or if it's funny. yet, he usually mumbled his words and i couldnt catch any. as a result, i kept quiet and acted blur. i think he must be thinking that his daughter could not understand his hokkien; being too engrossed with the show and cannot hear what he said; or even, daughter has grown up and will not entertain an old bloke like him.

i've gradually lost it ever since grandparents left when i was in primary levels. also, mum and i spoke mandarin most of the times. even though she would nag in hokkien to frustrate me, i would retaliate in mandarin. and, i never feel the uneasiness of language barrier.

another point, father only returns to home during weekends. this makes us drifted too. i cant remember when exactly he starts to work in batam.
his shipyard used to be in punggol. my family would travel in our then blue pick-up on the 1st day of cny there. we had xmas BBQ party with his workers twice there. and punggol took ten years to clear the mess and built flats like now.

so, counting back the years... it probably started when i was in sec1.

pa, sorry. i really wanna to communicate with you.

i should pick up something to practise my dialect.

jus filled up an job application form for playgroup teacher at a new montessori centre behind my block. pondered for some days when da-sao brought the brochure back. as it's a montessori, my newly-achieved generalised qualification might not what they want. anyway, submitted it and hope they contact me soon.

aft watching project superstar, my singing crave is hitting me again. but i wanna eat ah-kun and i'll go compasspoint tml!!
